The E-Auction for the gifts and souvenirs presented to PM Narendra Modi will be held at the PM Mementos Portal, https://pmmementos.gov.in. The auction will continue till 31st October 2023. This is a golden chance for the buyers to acquire rare artefacts and that too of PM Modi. The gifts and mementos presented to PM Modi are placed at the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi.

The money collected from the auction will support the Namami Gange initiative, as said by the Union Minister of State for Culture and External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi.  For people who are unaware of the initiative, Namami Gange is a flagship program initiated to fulfill two main two objectives: the preservation and revitalization of the Ganga and the effective reduction of pollution.

A total of 912 items are displayed at the National Gallery of Modern Art and put up for auction from 2 October 2023. The gifts and souvenirs include sketches, sculptures, swords, pagdi, paintings, angavastras, and more. The price range of the items put in the e-auction starts from Rs 700 to as high as Rs 64,80,000.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking about the auction on Twitter, said that the gifts and souvenirs presented in the auction are a testament to the rich cultural and artistic heritage of India.

This is the fifth such auction, and till now, over 7000 items have been put up for auction in the last four editions. The first e-auction was held in January 2019.

The e-auction begins on Monday, October 2, 2023, and many unique items are placed in it. A painting of a ghat of Varanasi, a replica of the Sun temple in Gujarat, and the Vijay Stambh of Chittorgarh are among the items that have been placed for the latest round of e-auction. Different arts like Gond art, Chamba rumal, Pattachitra, and Madhubani art depict the diversity of the cultural heritage of India.

People interested in buying the unique items must place their bid before 31st October 2023, as this is the last date of the e-auction.  Hence, a request has been made to participate in the e-auction and contribute towards the Namami Ganga Initiative.

How to Participate in the NAMO E-auction?

Here is the step-by-step process that you must implement on the authorized portal to participate in the auction.

Registration:

  • Those who are participating for the first time must click the ” Buyer Signup” option present at the top right corner of the PM Mementos Portal.
  • On the signup page, provide details, including mobile number, email address, and Password.
  • Agree to the terms and conditions with a right tick on the check box.
  • Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number or email ID.
  • Provide further details like name, address, birth date, and gender on the profile detail page and press Submit option afterward.
  • A message for the successfully signed up with the portal will be flashed.

Login:

Now, after receiving the login credentials, log in to the portal.

Aadhar Authentification:

Now, the system will authenticate your Adhar Card, and if in case it is pending, it will direct you to the Aadhar Authentification page.

Browse Items Presented in Auction:

Once logging successfully, the buyers are now allowed to browse the items placed in the auction.

Add to Cart:

Buyers must add the desired item to the cart which they want to bid in the auction. This is the mandatory step, as you will be allowed for the bidding for the items only you add to the cart.

Participation in the Auction:

You can now quote a bid for the item you add to the cart. Participation is permitted until the auction terminates.

Payment:

After the auction concludes and the authority approves the high quoted bidder, one must proceed with the payment via the portal. The item will then be delivered to your address within the country.
