SA20 Auction 2024
The second edition of the SA20 cricket tournament organized by Cricket South Africa is scheduled to begin on January 10, 2024, and the auction for the cricket tournament has already started. As you may know, SA20 is a twenty20 20-franchise cricket tournament played in Round Robin and playoffs format in South Africa. The tournament is played by six teams currently. The tournament was initiated last year only, and Sunrisers Eastern Cape won the first edition.
Now, for the second edition, preparations have already started, and every owner of the cricket team wants the best squad. For the upcoming second season, each team has been given a salary purse cap of Rs 39.1 million, which is Rs 5.1 million more than the previous debut season.
The SA20 Auction 2024 will be taking place in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. The auction timing, as per the Indian Standard Time, will start at 7:30 pm in India. SuperSport will broadcast the auction live, and the results of the same can be seen on the SA20 official website. There will be a minimum of 25 players that will be sold at the soon-to-be organized auction. Indian people can watch the SA20 auction on YouTube and JioCinema.
SA20 2024 Highlights
SA20 Cricket League features 6 global franchises from 6 cities. A total of 34 matches are to be played by all six teams, with each team playing the other teams twice. Overall, 114 local and international players will take part in the tournament.

SA20 2024 Sold, Unsold Players
Each of the six teams in the cricket tournament is required to include 19 players, of which a minimum of 10 players must be South African players and a maximum of seven international players, a wild card player, and a new Rookie South African player. The bidding will start today between the six teams, and several A-list names of the cricket world have registered their name for the tournament.
The top names for the auction are Robin Uthappa from India, Pakistani cricketer Naseem Shah and Mohammad Nawaz, Australian player Kane Richardson, and Srilankan allrounder Angelo Mathews. The list of the sold and unsold players after the auction will be available on the tournament’s official website.

SA20 2024 Retained, Released Players List
All the teams before the auction have released and retained players to make the best squad. Talking about last year’s title-winning team, Sunrisers Eastern Cape has retained almost all the players, with a few notable overseas players, including Dawid Malan, Craig Overton, and Liam Dawson. The team will bid for only three picks. The runner-up team, Pretoria Capitals, will bid for six players, of which five players will possibly be overseas players.
MI Cape Town retained their captain Rashid Khan and Sam Curran and also signed Tom Banton and Lian Living Stone for this year. Here is the complete list of the retained, released, resigned, and auction players of all six teams.
