Yamaha is preparing to release the highly anticipated R3 and MT-03 motorcycles in India. The company has officially announced that both technologically advanced two-wheelers will be available in the market by December 2023. However, the pricing information for these models has not been disclosed by the brand yet.
Potential buyers will have the opportunity to make online reservations for these vehicles through the company’s website. It has been reported that both bikes will be offered through Yamaha’s premium Blue Square dealer network. Yamaha is expected to finalize the list of dealerships by sometime in mid to late November.
Yamaha R3 and MT-03 Launch Date
Let’s discuss the design aspects of the R3 first. This motorcycle will showcase a fully faired style that exudes an aggressive road presence, making it likely to captivate a substantial customer base in the country.
The Yamaha R3 will incorporate design elements reminiscent of the YZF R15, including a YZF R15-inspired fuel tank, a transparent windscreen, and a split seating arrangement. Additionally, it will feature clip-on handlebars with a forward-leaning position, offering appealing choices for customers interested in bikes within the 350cc segment. According to some reports, the R3 is expected to be positioned one notch above the highly popular YZF R15
Yamaha R3 and MT-03 Price in India
The bikes will make their initial debut in India as CBU imports from Indonesia, with Yamaha planning to transition to CKD production in the future. Given this, it’s reasonable to anticipate that these motorcycles will come with a higher price tag, with ex-showroom prices expected to start above the Rs 4 lakh threshold. For context, the previous-generation Yamaha R3 was last available at an ex-showroom price of Rs 3.5 lakh, and the new model brings several enhancements, including a fresh design, LED headlights, and a USD fork.
The MT-03, which hasn’t been sold in India before, essentially represents the naked version of the R3, sharing the same primary chassis and the 321cc parallel-twin engine that delivers 42hp.
